SYNOPSIS

Adam 12 dealt with the day-to-day working world of two uniformed Los Angeles Police Department police officers assigned to patrol-car duty.

Officer Pete Malloy was a the senior officer who, at the start of the series, was teamed with a probationary rookie cop, Jim Reed. As members of the Los Angeles Police Department, they encountered a wide range of cases - some serious, some not-so-serious and some of them tragic.

During the 1970-1971 season, Jim Reed was promoted from rookie officer to officer and in the following year, Officer Malloy was promoted to Policeman 3, one notch below the rank of sergeant.
